Ending

Today we watched the ending of Slum-dog millionaire. Jamal found his brother and found out that he worked for an important gang member. After following his brother he shortly found out that Latika was in sort of a relationship with the gang leader. Then Jamal went to go finish the final question for who wants to be a millionaire. The question was who was the third musketeer in the three musketeers. Jamal laughed because he considered Latika as the third musketeer. He then used his phone a friend option and Latika finally answered. She did not know the answer to the question. I had to leave for this part because I had to go to jazz band so I don't know the ending.

India vs U.S. 2

Today in Human Geo we continued to watch Slum-dog Millionaire. We saw people taking young children and they gave them food. If the children could sing good the people would blind them because the children could earn twice as much money. Jamal ran away with his brother on a train an they grew older. They ended up at the Taj Mahal and made a business there selling peoples shoes and giving fake tours. After awhile they were able to go back and find the orphaned girl that they meet earlier in their lives. Jamal's brother had a gun and after killing someone he was not scared to kill anyone else. This showed of and then got him a job.

India vs. U.S.

Today we watched Slum-dog Millionaire and Mr. Schick asked us to compare what to our daily lives in America. In India there is just piles of trash every where, in the river and all around there town, more than America. They was there clothes in the river with the trash and the trash and children was themselves in the river. There schools are over crowded and the teachers are abusive. The police torture people to get information and treat their citizens poorly. the children will give anything to get small amounts of money(showing how poor they are he sold and expensive autograph for two coins). All in all India s far more corrupt when compared to America.

French National anthem
Let's go children of the fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us tyranny's
Bloody flag is raised! (repeat)
In the countryside, do you hear
The roaring of these fierce soldiers?
They come right to our arms
To slit the throats of our sons, our friends!
Refrain
Grab your weapons, citizens!
Form your battalions!
Let us march! Let us march!
May impure blood
Water our fields!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
This horde of slaves, traitors, plotting kings,
What do they want?
For whom these vile shackles,
These long-prepared irons? (repeat)
Frenchmen, for us, oh! what an insult!
What emotions that must excite!
It is us that they dare to consider
Returning to ancient slavery!
What! These foreign troops
Would make laws in our home!
What! These mercenary phalanxes
Would bring down our proud warriors! (repeat)
Good Lord! By chained hands
Our brows would bend beneath the yoke!
Vile despots would become
The masters of our fate!
Tremble, tyrants! and you, traitors,
The disgrace of all groups,
Tremble! Your parricidal plans
Will finally pay the price! (repeat)
Everyone is a soldier to fight you,
If they fall, our young hero's,
France will make more,
Ready to battle you!
Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors,
Bear or hold back your blows!
Spare these sad victims,
Regretfully arming against us. (repeat)
But not these bloodthirsty despots,
But not these accomplices of Bouillé,
All of these animals who, without pity,
Tear their mother's breast to pieces!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Sacred love of France,
Lead, support our avenging arms!
Liberty, beloved Liberty,
Fight with your defenders! (repeat)
Under our flags, let victory
Hasten to your manly tones!
May your dying enemies
See your triumph and our glory!
Refrain
We will enter the pit
When our elders are no longer there;
There, we will find their dust
And the traces of their virtues. (repeat)
Much less eager to outlive them
Than to share their casket,
We will have the sublime pride
Of avenging them or following them!
Refrain
Claude Joseph Rouget de Lislewas the composer of the French national anthem
The name of the anthem is  "The Marseillaise"
The song has a lot of brass instruments playing in the song
The anthem has a cheerful and happy tone
The anthem is different from our national anthem because it is more triumphed then Americas Anthem
The lyrics are well written and show Frances power

New Unit

Today in Human Geo we got to see what its like to be on an academic team. Mr. Schick told us that john carroll won 1st place in the tournament and then we did a little tournament in class. After that was over we received our test back and two people got A's. One of the people who got an A was me, I got a 90%. After everyone got back their grades, we began a new unit on cultural geography. We began it by looking at a map of the United States and it showed what Soft drinks are called in what regions of the united states. Some of the students thought it was weird that Soft drinks were called coke in the south. Then Mr. Schick talked about how weird it is to do crab feast and eating from a crabs carcass instead of just getting the meat already taking out of the crab.

Test today

Today we had a test in Human Geo. It was on all the governments and the information on the leaders. I don't think that I did good on that test because I did not know some information on some of the country leaders. I hope that I did good on this test along with everyone else in my class. There was multiple choice questions along with an essay at the end of the test. The Essay question was "why is it wrong to kill the president in a democracy like the US's. I thought this was kinda funny because Mr. Schick was expressing all week that killing is not always the answer. Also people continued to say it was the quickest way. I think that is why it was an essay question. The multiple choice had questions about the leaders of countries and how they run their countries, along with questions about things that went on in certain countries.

Test tomorrow

Tomorrow we will have a test in Human Geo. This test is on the leaders of the main countries and what type of government the country has. Mr. Schick put some information into his study guide power point, but he put on the links for the projects. This did not help a lot because we did not have access to the power points and we did not have the information that did not learn yet. For the class most people looked throughout the power point and listened to music. I spent most of class looking over the power point and trying to access the information on the links. I hope everyone gets a good grade on this test so that our average grade is not bad (like past test /grades).

Presentations

Today in Human Geo we had Presentations. My group went first for the presentation and we did a good job in my opinion. we were the first ones in the class so I hope that we set a good example for the rest of the class. Other people presented there power points and talked about their country.
China
-the government sets all prices in China
-China is a communist state and this makes all people equal
-Communism does not usually the way that is should.
The presentation was cut short because people were talking about poor people and that they are poor because it is their fault. then Mr. Schick stood up and told the class about homeless people and said that this was a very Harford county thing to say because, most of the people in our class can have back up support from our parents and poor people do not always have that.

Adventure

Today in Human Geo we were supposed to present our projects but instead we went on an adventure. This adventure was to go look at the cancer tables in the hallway. The tables showed weird things like lungs that smoked and didn't smoke. Also they had a machine to show the oil on a person's face to show if they needed to wear sunscreen more often or less. They also had two more tables, one for breast cancer and one for testicular cancer. The people who were there talked about how important it is to know about cancer and how it can be stopped. They gave out packets about different cancers and how they can affect the body. After every body went through all of the tables and used the skin cancer machine we went back to the classroom. Mr. Schick let us do our blogs at the end of class.

Finishing the assignment

Today in Human Geo we reviewed over the last pop quiz that we had. After we finished going over the quiz we were supposed to be ready to present our projects but no one was ready to present them. After finding out that  no one was fully done the project, Mr. Schick gave us one more class to finish the assignment. In my group we were mostly done but we had to put on more facts and and work on some slides. Luke was not in class today but we still we able to get more information. We found the possible candidates for the 2017 presidential election in France. There were ten possible candidates that possibly will run for president in 2017. We also found out what the second most powerful party is in France which is UMP, Union for a popular movement. I hope that we will get a good grade on this assignment.
