Our new unit in human geography is population and migration.
In the world there are over 7 billion people right now. Also we are increasing
by 73 million people each year. Although this seems like a high number, the
population is also decreasing from natural causes or car crashes or from anything.
90% of this population growth is being caused in developing countries such as
ones in Africa, South and East Asia, and in Latin America. In the year 1804,
the world had a population of 1 billion. 123 years later the earth had a
population of 2 billion. Then 3 billion 3 years later and about every 14-12
years the earth would gain another billion. Life expectancy is the average
number of years to be lived by a group of people born in the same year. For the
rankings of highest years of life expectancy the United States was placed at
#50. Even though our country has the technology to protect people, we also have
fast food and other unhealthy foods that some people tend to eat. This has made
our country go lower on the scale then it should be.
